im Hopkins is a founder and the senior partner of the firm. Born March 30, 1936, he is a native of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and a 1960 graduate of Stanford University. He received his law degree in 1963 from the George Washington University Law School, with honors, and is a member of the Order of the Coif. During law school he served as associate editor of the George Washington Law Review.

he is a member of the Idaho State Bar and the State Bar of California, and is admitted to practice before those state courts, as well as federal trial courts, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. He was a member of the Idaho State Bar Commission from 1988-1991, and served as president of the Idaho State Bar in 1990-1991. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, where he served as Idaho State Bar Delegate to the House of Delegates from 1992 through 1997; and where he currently serves as Idaho State Delegate. He was a member of the board of directors of the Idaho Law Foundation from 1983 to 1988 and is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and Idaho State Chair.

mr. Hopkins has also been active in his community and is a former president of the United Way of Idaho Falls and Bonneville County, Inc., Idaho Falls Rotary Club and the Greater Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce. He has served as chairman of the board of directors of the Eastern Idaho Economic Development Council, Inc., and is currently chair of the board of directors of the Nature Conservancy of Idaho and a member of the Idaho State University Foundation board. He and his wife, Anne, are the parents of three children.

his practice emphasizes civil trial and appellate practice, corporate, commercial, real property and public interest law. Mr. Hopkins' avocational interests have much to do with his love for Idaho and the outdoors. He is a horseman, bird hunter and fly-fisherman and enjoys both downhill and cross-country skiing.
