red Hoopes, a native of Idaho, was admitted to practice law in 1973 after graduating from law school at Texas Tech University in Lubbock. He attended undergraduate school at Brigham Young University and American University in Washington, D.C. while employed by the late Senator Frank F. Church.

After eight years of solo practice, he joined the law firm in January, 1982. He is a Visiting Lecturer in Law at the University of Idaho School of Law in Moscow, Idaho in Trial Practice. He is board certified as a Civil and Criminal Trial Specialist. Mr. Hoopes also participates in the American Bar Association and the Idaho State Bar, including the section on litigation practice and is currently serving as Bar Commissioner. He maintains a substantial litigation practice which involves personal injury, wrongful death, product liability, medical malpractice, and criminal defense and is active in public and community affairs.

He and his wife, Sidney, have two daughters. Mr. Hoopes is an angler and a wrangler, he is an avid fly-fisherman and fly tier and owns quarter horses and mules.
